My father was a fan of Mr. Hopkins. As am I. When I was a kid working in the fields, one of my fellow workers had grown up with him. Said he was always always playing a guitar. Samuel John Lightning Hopkins is, I believe one of the foundational song writers not just of Texas but of America.
